Happy Monday sweeties! I have a quick post for you this evening! Urban Decay is having their friends and fanatic sale, with 20% of a bunch of stuff! However, this does not include the Naked 3 Palette. Boo. Nonetheless, it is a great deal, and it is valid until 14 February! And lastly, the really great news; Urban Decay ships direcly to Norway and other international destinations. Can you say hooray?
Right of the bat, if you are a longtime lover of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, you are going to adore this. I have to admit, I yet again fell for the packaging. It's a pretty turquoise color, with pink graffiti letters. I mean, come on!
In the packaging, you get 22 ml (Japanese packaging). For reference, the Photo Finish Primer from Smashbox contains 30 ml. When you squeeze it out on your hand, the consistency feels quite thick. It has no tint or scent to it. Once you start working with it, it will melt and transform into a thinner, more oily consistency. Both the Baby Skin and the Photo Finish Primer contains silicone. That is why your skin will feel übersoft after you have applied it. That is one of the things I love the most about this primer.
The main claim of this primer, is that it blurs your pores. They DO NOT fill them in. When it comes to the blurring, I did not notice a huge difference after I had applied it. But then again, my pores are quite small due to the fact that I have extremely dry skin. My skin is also very sensitive, but I did not notice any breakouts or irritation with this primer. The main reason why I like this is that it enhances the longevity of your makeup with a few hours. I also think that it helped my makeup glide on smoother.
If you are going to wear this under foundation/tinted moisturizer/BB Cream, only use a thin layer. To much, and your base makeup will slip and slide around like you were playing ice hockey. - If you are looking for something that really fills in your pores, I would recommend investing in Benefit's Porefessional Primer. - If you are looking for a primer that really blurs your pores, try L'oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Primer - If your are looking for an affordable primer, which makes your makeup glide on smother, and lengthens the wear time of your makeup, this right up your alley. I will also say that if you are a teenager looking for a primer... #getit They currently don't sell this in Norway, so I bought mine on Ebay here! The price was around $15 (95 NOK) included shipping. Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday, and a happy Mothersday!
I am on a mission! A mission to convert all you blush virgins into believers. My goal is to make you use blush. All day, every day. Cause, a few years ago I was one of you! I was terrified of blush. Terrified of looking like I had been in a sauna for 24 hours. No, not a gross sauna with naked people everywhere... (Get your mind out of the gutter!) But then I bought the Rose Gold blush from Sleek. And with that, my blush cherry got popped! I hoarded blush after that, and I still do. Therefore, I am going to show you five of my favourite blushes. You can thank me later!
Sleek Blush in Rose Gold
Let us start with the blush that started it all. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it. It was a dark Saturday in Oktob... No, I'm just kidding. But it is a gorgeous blush. This is rumoured to be a close dupe to NARS Orgasm Blush. I can not tell you if it is, as I have not tried a single NARS blush. Shame on me! If they are dupes, that's great news! Sleek Rose Gold retails for $6.99, while NARS Orgasm sells for $30. Big difference in price. You can get a bottle of wine for the money you save on blush! Sleek Rose Gold is a rosy-coral pink with a good amount of gold shimmer in the pan. Sleek Blushes are intensely pigmented, so a little goes a long way. While it may look terrifying with all it's gold shimmer goodness in the pan, it just gives a hint of gold when you blend it out on the cheeks. What you end up with is a gorgeous coral tinted, flushed look. A definite must have in every makeup bag. Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow
Okay, tell me this packaging doesn't remind you of a mix between Juicy Couture and Benefit. I have always hated blushes with cardboard packaging. They do not fare well when travelling. But this was so cute I had to have it. This is 3 blushes in 1. You can use them separately, or swirl them all together to get 1 colour. I have written a more thorough review HERE, so I think you should go check it out. Urban Decay Powder Blush in Temper
This is part of the Shattered Face Case, which Urban Decay released fall of 2013. Urban Decay does not currently sell powder blushes in single form, but we can only hope. This blush is packed with pigment! You only need the tiniest amount on your brush, and you are good to go. Temper is a medium pink with cool blue undertones and a matte finish. I found that I had to blend a little while to make it look natural, but when I was done, it was so worth it! If you want to read my full review of the Shattered Face Case, click HERE! Tarte Amazonian 12 Hour Clay Blush in Memorable
This blush came in the Tarte of Giving Gift Set for Christmas 2013. It is a smaller size, which means that I'm saving this one to make it last. Memorable was a limited edition shade specifically for this gift set, but I am crossing my fingers that they make it full size and permanent. Please Tarte! Memorable is a light pink/plum shade with shimmer. I think this is a really unique colour. My full review of the Tarte of Giving Set HERE!
Sleek Blush by 3 in Sweet Cheeks
And last but not least, this baby! We can not forget this, that would be like forgetting Kevin at home at Christmas time. It is a must in my blush collection, and when I say it is a favourite, I mean all three shades. Like I've said, it comes with three shades; Cupcake, Dolly Mix and Candy Floss.
Cupcake is actually a cream blush! It is a bright pink shade with cool undertones and a slight red tint. Dolly Mix is a light pink/lavender shade with cool undertones. It looks a lot more lilac in the pan then it actually is when you blend it on the cheeks. There is no shimmer here, this baby is all matte! And then we have Candy Floss. I think the names are really weird. If I could name these, I would call this Dolly Mix, and Dolly Mix Candy Floss, if that makes any sense! (Probably not) Candy Floss is a shimmery pinky/red powder blush with yellow/orange undertones. I love all the shades in the Sleek Palette just as much. You can't choose between children. So that is it for my blush edition. I think I will continue with these edition posts. They are so fun to make, and I hope they are equally fun to read.
Thank god it's Friday! And the weekend is just around the corner. Whoop whoop! Are you doing anything fun? I thought today was a perfect day for a little mani action (if you read that wrong, don't blame me) The wonderful thing about nail art, is that it always looks harder than it actually is. Therefore, I have taken step by step pictures, so you can see every little brushstroke. I am going to put a disclaimer out there; I am in no way a professional at this, so if you think this looks a little uneven, it probably is. Also, my natural nails are practically small stubbs right now, so I am going to use my trusted friend, the swatch sticks. I hope you will enjoy this tutorial!
1. Start by painting your nails with two coats of your favourite polish. I used China Glaze For Audrey, which is a gorgeous Tiffany blue/turquoise shade.
2. With a nail art pen, or a striper, paint an X on the middle of your nail with black polish. Don't worry if it's uneven, we are going to fill it in with a pink polish!
3. With a striper, paint two stripes on the ends of your cross, to form a bow shape. Fill this in with a pink polish. I am using my favourite; Lime Crime - Parfait Day! It is so fun! It reminds me of colouring inside the lines, like I did when I was a kid.
4. Take a dotting tool, or the end of a bobby pin. Dip it in black polish, and make a dot in the middle of the bow. Let it dry for a little while. In the meanwhile, you could make yourself a cup of tea, or eat a big candy bar! I'm not judging...
5. On top of the black dot, place a smaller pink dot.
6. Finish it of with small white dots all over the nail, around the bow. Top it off with a fast drying topcoat. And voila! You are done!
I hope you found this tutorial helpful. Nail art is so fun, and so easy!
Few things go better together than chocolate and beer. It is like they were made for each other. If you've never tried it, go for it! And if you're worried about the alcohol content in these, don't worry about it! All the alcohol will evaporate when
you bake them. No alcohol, but all the aroma baby!
There is something magical about perfume. To think that a liquid in a small bottle can have that much power, is really magical. Whenever I am out travelling, my favourite way to pass time in the airport is to lurk about in the perfume section. Currently, I have three favourites to show you. I don't really like those sweet sweet perfumes, that make you smell like a fifteen year old girl at her first party. I'm really loving earthy, clean scents at the moment. Burberry -Touch for Women
I think this is the perfume I'm loving the most at the moment. I love the clean, wooden design on the bottle. This suits me perfectly, because it is the kind of scent that I think will suit both men and women. The smell reminds me of fresh Forrest and soap. It also has a masculine tone about it that I really love. The cap is also made of real wood and not the plastic that is made to look like wood. This gives the bottle a more exclusive design, in my opinion. Yves Rocher- Candied Mallows
I said I didn't like sweet perfumes. But I did not mean perfume that smells like candy! They describe it as a blend between candied mallows and crispy sweet almond. This a sweet perfume, but it also has a sophisticated touch to it. I'm also a sucker for pink, so I don't mind that the liquid itself is pink. Juicy Couture- Juicy Couture
And last, but not least, we have the Juicy Couture perfume. This came in a duo rollerball with the Couture La La. I thought the Couture La La would smell great on me, so that's why I ordered it. But it didn't smell very good on me, and I didn't really like it. But I loved the other one! Juicy Couture is described as a casual chic perfume. It is a blend between watermelon, passion fruit and water hyacinth. It even has some caramel and vanilla thrown into the mix. I love intricate smells like that, with lots of different notes. So that is it for my perfume post. I guess we all have our favourites. If you have some perfumes you feel like sharing, go for it! I am also, like every other girls, always looking for new treasures. After all, what perfume you choose, says allot about you. Hope you all are having a fantastic Wednesday! Lots of love...
There is nothing quite like a lemon pie fresh out' the oven, and this recipe is my favourite! The filling on this one is not too sweet, which is great! I hate lemon pies which feel like you've bitten into the real thing (cue ugly scrunchy face). I hope you will try to make this, cause you will not regret it. Pinky swear!
Yep. Like Superman is itching to kick Lex Luthors ass, I am dying to show you my top ten makeup products of all time! It was hard but I managed to narrow it down. A pretty big accomplishment from someone who has a hard time choosing underwear in the morning. But I did it. Yay!!!!
To kick things off, I chose the Sealing Gel from Illamasqua. This turns any powder product to a paste/liquid. This means that you can use your favourite powder eyeshadow into a liquid eyeliner. As if that isn't enough to knock your socks off, it also makes any product waterproof. Booja!
Second is a foundation. Yes, I managed to pick just one. It is the L'oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint. L'oreal claims that this is lighter than water. And they are right. But lighter than water also means light coverage. I use this on my good skin days. It is a liquid to powder foundation, and it makes the skin feel like Christian Greys silk sheets. The best part is the cheap price, and the fact that it is an exact copy of the Giorgio Armani Maestro foundation. Only difference is the Maestro costs $70 (420 NOK) vs this one at $16(99 NOK)
I'm sure most of you have heard of Benefits They're real mascara. This is my holy grail mascara and I love it almost as much as Charlie Sheen loves Cocaine. Which says pretty much everything. Every time I wear this, people ask me if I'm wearing false lashes. I love how it separates, gives volume and curls my lashes, without becoming a hot clumpy mess.
Picking a favourite palette was fairly easy for me. It's probably no surprise that i chose the Naked Palette from Urban Decay. I have owned this for close to two years, and I have yet to hit pan on any of the shadows. I like how slim the packaging is, and I have to say that the only downside to this palette is that it is a magnet for dust! After owning it a month, it looked like it had fur. If I wanted fur, I would have gotten a cat. You can pretty much create any basic look with this palette, from neutral to a smokey eye. It also comes with a great quality shadow brush!
If you haven't purchased the Revolution Lipsticks from Urban Decay yet, I suggest you do it now. My favourite is the shade Catfight, which is a gorgeous fuchsia pink. These lipsticks are so creamy, so pigmented and glides on with ease on the lips. Sometimes, I don't even use a lip liner, and they haven't bled on my lips yet. The packaging on these is also super cute. The gunmetal colour on the outside, and a little pop of metallic purple is gorgeous! I can't find one negative thing to say about these babies... Well, except the price. They are a little expensive.
To prevent chapped lips, I use the Korres Lip Butter in Jasmin. It is like a miracle in a jar. These mend sore lips in no time, and I like that the Jasmin doesn't really smell like Jasmin, but Cookie Dough. And really, who doesn't like Cookie Dough right? I put this on before I go to bed at night, and in the morning, I will have soft, moisturised lips.
TheBalm's Schwing Liquid Liner, is the only liquid liner for me. It is a long term relationship, and I don't have any plans to break up yet. The tip makes applying this sucker really easy, and it gives a really matte black result. Not grey, not brown, but black black. And again, the packaging is adorable.
If you have dry skin like me, you'll know what I'm talking about. Concealer who clings to your dry patches, and accentuates them. That's why I like Benefit's Fake Up Concealer. This actually moisturises the skin, while you wear it. It has the concealer in the middle, and a ring consisting of a hydrating balm around the edge. This why it is ideal for dry skin. You can also use it on the lips to erase your natural lip colour. Lastly, you can use it on your whole face, not just under the eyes, or everywhere but under the eyes.
I have very fair skin, and have problem finding a bronzer light enough for me. Therefore, I was so exited when Too Faced released their Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in a lighter shade. The Milk Chocolate shade is just right for me. It smells like real chocolate, and you just want to eat it. However, do not try that! It does not taste good. Trust me, speaking from experience here. I also like how it doesn't make me orange or muddy. Just sun kissed.
Lastly, I have to mention the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils. These are the best of the best of eye pencils. The consistency of these are so soft, and remind me of butter. They are also crazy pigmented, and comes in all the colours you can possibly think of. They are so durable, so you don't have to be afraid to throw it around in your purse/makeup bag. That is it, my top ten makeup products, ever! Leave a comment down below letting me know who your favourites are. Maybe we have some of them in common! Hope you are well, and your week is going great. If it isn't, don't worry. There is always next week.
